Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei , Fakaalofa Lahi Atu, and greetings to all Ferguson families and whānau.

I am proud and honored to serve as Principal of Ferguson Intermediate School. Our goal is to inspire staff, students, and community to achieve our Mission Statement of striving to become a "High Performing School". We can achieve this through our school motto of "Mahi Tahi" (collaboration and working as one).

The Board of Trustees, staff and whanau are all working together as a supportive team to motivate and encourage our students to pursue academic, sporting, and cultural excellence. Our focus is also on the personal well-being of staff and students in a caring and safe learning environment.

We are a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school and the result of this is for our staff and students to demonstrate our school values of respect, responsibility, resilience, and safety within and out of school.

During these innovative times when students are becoming increasingly creative in the use of artificial intelligence and social media, I believe that promoting "learner agency" is important for our students to become good citizens, successful, connected, and lifelong learners. Students must learn to manage themselves and use a range of online tools responsibly while learning at school and remotely.

We look forward to consolidating and building on the partnership between the school, whānau and community.
